From the Manufacturer Wheels-2-Wings is a new brand produced by Unimax, the makers of Forces of Valor. Wheels-2-Wings brings you highly detailed recreations of iconic machines found in world-class collections from around the world. Our first series features planes found in The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. The world's first operational jet fighter, the Me-262 Schwalbe. The Smithsonian museum's aircraft was captured at Lechfeld, Germany, by a special USAAF team led by Col. (later Maj. Gen.) Harold M. Watson. The nose has four cannon ports with shell casing vents and the metal fuselage features multiple antennas. Features: Realistic panel lines, antennas, access panels and surface details. Markings and placards that won't fade or peel. Interchangeable extended/retracted landing gear. Stand to display the aircraft "in flight". Detailed pilot. Poor design features.
You are given an option of mounting the landing gear in either an up or down position. However the nose gear wouldn't stay in place and simply fell out. I had to glue it in place which means I haven't an option to change it later. This also destroys any resale value. The stand also had to be glued together making it quite unsightly. The stand on the JU-87 was also difficult to assemble but at least it worked. This one kept tilting to one side until the wing touched. The detail is very good although there was a stray paint mark on the underside. I have a JU-87 by Unimax and the detail is quite good also. The extra cost for this model is *not* worth it considering the design flaws.
