Lightweight string trimmer
Easy to use and fairly good battery life. Takes a little effort to change from trimmer to edger. Highly recommend.

I am impressed with this weedwacker! Great job Craftsman
First time in use and I am impressed! The machine allowed me to move fast cutting the weeds effortlessly. I like the fact you are able to switch into edger mode with little downtime. Even adjusting the spool of whip was quick and efficient. In my opinion Craftsman built a solid weedwacker. I look forward to the continued use of this tool!

Electric trimmer needs consideration of refill cartridges & extra batteries before purchasing
The initial price of this trimmer & edger was great. Unfortunately it runs through the string cartridges like crazy. The first time I used 11, the second time was 9 so take the cost of the refill cartridges into consideration when deciding which trimmer to purchase. It's kinda like buying a low price printer but the cost of the ink kills ya. The trimmer works fine, uses a lot of battery power so I would recommend purchasing 2-3 extra batteries. It takes 3 battery charges to complete the trimming of my 9,000 sq ft lot & the batteries basically have to recharge overnight (I don't know how many hours they take to fully recharge). Had I known about the expense of the cartridges with every mow & that it takes 3 batteries to get through my lawn, I would have spent more & gone with a gas trimmer. The trimmer works just fine, I should mention!

Easy to use and great value for the money.
I wanted a weekwacker that would be easy to use. This is definitly it. This was easy to put together out of the box. Battery lasts a good 25 minutes and had very good power for battery operated. Worked well around fence line. Excellent value for money.

Fine for Home Use - Grab a Spare Battery
Nice tough weed-wacker for a normal home loan. I would not go into the wilderness with this. Battery life is ok in the sense that when it dies, I am ready for a break. Recharging takes several hours so do order a couple of spares to always have a fresh battery ready. I have had weed eaters before and am very pleased with this batter-powered model.

My wife had a different brand and the batteries kept going down so I bought her this craftsman’s and she loves it , it works great.

bad battery, bad charger, etc - BUT I do recommend a different GREAT trimmer
It's HARD to find a trimmer that's not too long, not too heavy, and isn't made for huge man hands. Never occurred to me that I'd have to worry about a bad battery and charger right out of the box, esp when I was just trying to replace my well-loved, worn out trimmer from the same brand that lasted for 6 hard years of work.So I do NOT recommend this trimmer -- but I DO RECOMMEND THIS: CRAFTSMAN V20* String Trimmer / Edger CMCST910M1 instead. It took 6 yrs to wear out the rotating pin (or whatever it's called) in my Craftsman CMCST910M1. I LOVED THAT TRIMMER! I'm a 5'4" female with medium-sized arthritic hands, and was able to set up that trimmer for the perfect length, wasn't too heavy or out of balance, and didn't have to grip it hard to keep it running. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it online at the local big box hardware store anymore, so I thought it was discontinued and instead decided on this model because I needed the edging feature. That big box store has 'updated' their checkout cart, required a code to check out for the first time ever, the email never arrived, could only get a foreign call center to answer, so I gave up and came here to Amazon to buy it instead. Amazon makes it EASY to check out and spend money! lolSo once here, I searched for that new model number and bought it here. It never occurred to me to see if Amazon still carried my old model -- bad mistake on my part.Anyhoo, my problems with this model:- battery NEVER stops blinking on the tiny, Barbie-sized charger included with this trimmer, even after 1 hr 45 min, when it should charge in less than an hour- tried to charge one of my old batteries on the new charger, still never stops blinking - so obviously the charger is bad- next, tried charging the new battery on my old regular/human-sized charger and it turned solid green and appeared fully charged, but only worked <15 minutes on Low speed, while my 6 yr old battery still runs for 35 minutes after all this time, even when I used it on this new trimmer - so obviously the new battery is also bad- the Run button is way too sensitive and has to be gripped HARD in a strangle-hold, or it stutters or stops running altogether; absolutely horrible for any hand, much less mine with arthritis; I ended up sleeping in arthritis gel and copper gloves for days after only using it for a few hours- the upper plastic handle is way too large for anything but big man hands, so it makes it even harder to keep that Run button engaged- at 5'4", I'm average height but evidently too short for this trimmer because I could never get the angle correct: a hand has to stay in one position for that strangle-hold on the Run button, tried adjusting the loop handle in every position for the second hand, adjusted pole in every length, even laid it next to my old trimmer to try to match its configuration and STILL couldn't get it at the right angle or even sem-comfortable to use, even tried switching hands- the ONLY pro I could find is that the auto-feed works great, so no bumping or pushing buttonsLUCKILY, yesterday I realized that I never looked for my old trimmer model on Amazon, came back and WOOHOOOOOO found that they still carry it! So I am returning this one and have fingers crossed that the CMCST910M1 that arrives today is the same as my old one, that they've not messed it up with some unknown 'improvement', and that the battery and charger actually work. So I still highly recommend THAT Craftsman trimmer for now.
