Fun new hobby
Bought to extend my jewelry hobby. Fun and works great. Good price. First use I may have rolled too thin or incorrect baking, still learning but one earring out of 10 pairs broke.

Cheaper by the 3/4 dozen. 2/3? Whatever.
I love original Sculpey. It gets a bad rap for being crumbly. It just needs to be fresh.

soo much fun && great for gifts!
I bought the clay to make Christmas gifts this year. I had alot of fun making them! I think if I want to have the art colored, I think I'll buy the clay that's already colored. maybe it's me, but I didn't like how it looked when I painted it so I used watercolor which was cool on some of them but then I just ended up using permanent markers.the time the art stays in the oven depends how big it is. I think most of them stayed in for 40 45 mins at 250-275 degrees.

My Go-To Polymer Clay
This is definitely my go-to clay. It is a soft clay so it can be tricky to work with, but that means less ache for your hands. I have tried other Sculpey clays, and most of them are too hard to warm up and mold, and make my hands ache trying to work with them. No matter what clays I've tried, I've always come back to this white clay. The terra-cotta color is also nice and soft like this one.I've had no problems baking and painting this white clay. I've created small keychains, small sculptures, and medium sculptures. All with ease and paintability. The paint goes on nicely, and a couple of coats is the trick to a full color. I top them with Liquitex varnishes (matte, gloss) and they perform nicely without becoming tacky.Don't be fooled by the less than 5 star reviews. This clay is versatile and great. The clay comes in a single box, with 8 blocks, in a single wrap of plastic. If your clay comes a dried out, add baby oil and Sculpey Clay Softener until you reach your desired softness.I recommend for beginners, amateurs, and pros alike.

Color me bummed...
It was great until the baking process. Everything turned out very nice. However, the fumes it puts off can make you ill. If you have sinus problems or allergies, you may want to consider this. Also, I needed at least a day between baking clay and cooking a meal. The smell lingered.I’ve used about half of the container over five different sessions. I used it a week ago, had barely pulled the tray from the oven when my nose & throat began burning. At times I can still “taste the smell” & as of today, still coughing/sneezing & leaky eyes.Disappointing, I really enjoyed the process of working with & painting afterward. Made some neat dragons & faerie garden goodies.A shame because it really makes some kool creations & works very well in silicone molds.

This Is My Go-To Clay
I am in love with this clay. I think it is a bit too finicky for a beginner, and it has a learning curve all its own (like all clays) but once you get acclimated to it you can make some really dope stuff. I used to get irritated at the fragility of the pieces made with it, but then I read about the tempering hack and now I can say I have made a bust of one of my characters that has fallen off the top shelf of my desk three times and not broken or cracked one bit. If you're having trouble with the durability of your pieces, immediately submerge them in very cold water out of the oven and they ought to be more sturdy. Fingerprints in the clay can just be buffed off after baking. If you plan on painting this clay after baking, I'd just like to forewarn you that it is very difficult to get an even, streak-free color, and it's probably for the best to just buy the pre-colored bricks and go from there.
