TOTALLY DIFFERENT TEST MATERIAL AND Q & A FORMAT FROM THAT REVIEWED IN THIS BOOK... "I WAS ILL-PREPARED!"... THAT, ON TOP OF THE FACT THE BOOK PURCHASED WAS CHEAPLY, POORLY PRODUCED, (HORRIBLY COPIED REPRODUCTION)... FORMAT PRESENTED NO EXPLAINATIONS IN Q & A, NOR SUBJECT MATERIAL REMOTELY RELATED TO QUESTIONS ASKED IN THE EXAM. DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THE SELLER HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS AND THE SERIOUS PROBLEMS ABOUT THIS BOOK. CONTACTED SELLER RELATING MY DISSATISFACTION, AS WELL AS, SUGGESTING TO DISCONTINUE SELLING THIS BOOK, BUT THIS WAS THE RESPONSE: I'm really sorry that the study guide did not help you with taking the test. Don't know what to say cause this is the recommended study guide for Train Operator exam. Hopefully they will change to reflect the Q & A in future.Regards"... CLUELESS...!?!"

Fantastic!!! Studied very hard with help of this book and sample questions found O/L. Out of 7000+ applicants that day I placed 86th on the test score. It still took 3 1/2 years to get called from a waiting list and when the notification arrived I had just moved. One year later I received it in the mail and I was put at the bottom of the list and it's been several years of not hearing. If you move notify them right away.

For now I'm not sure .it will meet my expectations if the exam for which I am preparing for answer similar questions. Thanks for your follow-up.

i got the book and review some of it, but i'm confused. The book seems to be for people who already know what they are doing and need to brush up on their skills.

I still gave this book 3 stars because it is filled to the brim with questions and answers. Half of it is very useful bc of the rule/scenario style of questioning. The other half seems to be geared to people already on a similar job. Without information being given- it asks about things like brake pressure, operating specific train models and random display markers. The book of course gives the answers but- NO RATIONALES. Its hard to get the hang of a concept without a rationale.
