Are you asking if it grows in brackish water? I don't know. However, mine grew like Kudzo Weed in my fresh water aquarium. Many of its cuttings are now in other tanks...still growing well. I am a believer in frequent water changes, adequate CO2 and "hands out of the tank" at all times.

The tank should have good water quality with pH of 6.0-7.0, hardness of 3-8 dGH and temperature of 63-82 F. This miniature version of the well-known Alternanthera is characterized by compact growth and a slower growth rate. It is particularly suitable for small aquariums or as a foreground plant in larger aquascapes. By careful trimming can you create a dense, red-violet carpet approximately 5 to 10 cm high. High light intensity and addition of CO2 improves the plants growth and overall apperance.
