Filter works great. I usually have to change for a new filter around 35% because of the taste of the water. I’m setup on subscription so I don’t have to remember to order a new one when the time comes.

Longevity, is as stated, every 6 months, but have been able to use them longer.Value, a bit pricey, but with the quality of the filter the taste is worth it.Installs easy, and quickly even if you forget how to install it. No leaks and the water pressure stays consistent.Have used comparable, other well rated filters. Researching different filters for impurity filtration, longevity and cost. And the quality is really good, but you can taste the difference with GE Filters.Ended up getting really sick, and ended up very sensitive to taste. Tried replacing our water filter with a new comparable one, filtered water from other sources and a variety of different bottled water. Their taste varied from yuck to ok. For health reasons, it was important in our household to drink plain water. We also and we live in an area where there are water issues and filtration is important.Tried everything we could think of as GE filters are pricey. However, once the filter was replaced with these filters, the water went back to tasting great!When using comparable filter you loose access to that chip that tells you when to automatically replace the filter. Which is pretty apparent with any filter as they all become clogged with their use and you loose water pressure when they need to be replaced.Different places have different impurities and everyone has a different pallet. For our household, this is a quality product.

It's not my first time ordering these filters. And just as before, I'm pleased.

This filter worked in my GE refrigerator, so the filter must contain the "official GE" RFID chip. Removal of the old filter required a 90 degree turn, that required a pair of pliars. The installation of the new filter was made easier by putting a very light coating of vaseline on the two external raised lugs.I have purchased a similar looking filter elsewhere online, at half the price, that doesn't have the chip, and it doesn't work. It fits in the designated spot in the refrigerator, but the refrigerator "brain" refuses to recognize a filter is intstalled, and won't dispense water. GE is making people pay twice as much for their filter with the chip.Its getting 4 stars because of the higher price I had to pay.

Works as advertised. A little funky to install, make sure you watch a few videos. Also, be careful when first pressing the switch to dispense water, it spits and sputters a lot at first.

The genuine product. It’s easy to use just live up the arrow and twist. Quiet. Doesn’t impede water flow, stays strong. Worth replacement for safer water.

I purchased this filter, the exact filter that came with the appliance. When installed, it did not resolve the replacement error message. Upon talking to GE customer service, she informed me that often times if the filter does not come from their authorized distributors, there is no guarantee it will work or communicate with the appliance. Since this was my first replacement, she sent a new filter along with a "bypass plug" complimentary. I refunded this filter. I received their filter and got the same results. Installed the bypass plug, same result. She said that if I didn't get water with the bypass plug, then the problem lies with the appliance. Service tech is scheduled for next week. This leaves me to believe there was absolutely nothing wrong with this filter.
