AWESOME EASY APPLICATOR TO USE & CLEAN!!!
If there were 10 stars available I’d rate it a 10! Awesome applicator for lotion and pain cream that needs to be applied to middle back shoulder blade area that I can’t reach by myself. Very easy to wash clean. I’ve only had to use one tip of the applicator so far even though 3 came with it. AWESOME PRODUCT! WELL MADE!!!

It Works!
I was a little skeptical about this type of lotion applicator. My dermatologist suggested that I get one when she prescribed a medication that I needed to apply to my back. I could see that there were several types of long handled applicators available: the pad type and the roller type. I decided on the pad type because it was less expensive and there were no moving parts. This particular model from Vive comes with several replaceable oval-shaped pads. The pads are made from a two sided, textured, non-porous material that washes easily. Time will tell if I actually need all the pads, but I have them if I should need them. The texture on the pad keeps the lotion from slipping off. The 17.5” wooden handle is long enough to slide the applicator fairly successfully around one’s back, rubbing in the lotion, as one goes. My only complaint is that the pad is fairly stiff and following the contours of one’s back can require some minor contortions of one’s arms.

Easy to use, NOT A SPONGE PAD
I had shoulder surgery (removed bone and muscle) so I have limited range of motion on my dominant arm. This is very useful in not only just moisturizing my back, but putting medication on the giant scar (top of shoulder to mid back). It’s not like a soft kitchen sponge so if you have dips in your back or contours from trying to turn and reach, this won’t work for you. This is harder, almost like a styrofoam block, so it doesn’t absorb your product and does actually spread it.Also yes the hole in the pad is circular and the stick is rectangular, but it’s done on purpose to prevent it from popping out easily. It does in fact stick on with minimal effort.I just got it so I will update if this easily breaks after little use.

Vive Easily Beats the Competition!
I didn't know how hard it was to use a different one I bought previously on Amazon, (though I had an idea), the one with the solid round pvc handle that turned around and around while useing it, and even slipped out of my hand if I got lotion on the blue smooth handle cover, until I got this one! This is so much easier to use, works better, and is so much lighter in weight too-good for arthritic hands, etc., that it is so much nicer to use in comparison.I use it mainly on my back for Psoriasis. I love the flat handle with the ribbed grip, that allows you to know it is facing flat so the lotion is applied more evenly (unlike a round stick that is hard to tell how it is oriented to your body if you can't see it). Another great feature is the non-absorbing harder foam pad that feels soft to the touch, and will not snag on any flaky skin like the more fabric like pad of the other wand would at times, so it is more soothing to use, and less irritating. The lightweight but sturdy wooden handle is less tiring on you than the heavy pvc one. Is it perfect? I think there could be an improvement for some if there were a choice of a little longer and wider handle were offered, so people with larger hands and larger areas to cover (like a back) might find it a little easier. But I'm not complaining-it is so much better than my old one, that I am just grateful to have found it. It is so simple too-no complicated system for attaching a pad-it just pushes on and pulls off-great! The other one I was using before has a white disk that is glued on the end, that the pad attached to-but it fell off and I lost it, luckily, so I had to order something else. Thank you Vive for having your thinking caps on when you designed this one!!!

It works
I got this to apply cocoa butter to my back after I got a sunburn because I didn't like the way my partner did it lol I'm impressed with how well it did with applying the butter since the butter I use is hard before it has a chance to melt on your skin. I just kind of smooshed the butter onto the pad and it stayed on the pad just fine while I applied it.However, after using it I feel like the design isn't thoroughly thought through. There isn't much curve to the handle which makes it hard to reach certain places, I had to do a lot of switching up angles, hands, ect. to get into all the contours of my back. It took some effort. I also feel like the pad shape and material is less than ideal. The foam didn't absorb any butter but it felt like it just smeared it around and it took a lot of finesse to get it rubbed in well. Maybe if it was made of a more rubbery texture it would work better, I'm not sure. The pad also seemed like it could be better a shape. I wonder about it have an articulating head joint or a more bendable material to help getting in some hard to reach spots. I'm not sure what could be done to improve this product but I do know it was a little difficult to use. Maybe it just takes practice. All in all, it got the job done, my back is moisturized, my sunburn is less itchy, and I'm satisfied. I might look for different style products similar to this one in the future but for now I'm happy and going to stick with it!
