Highly recommend this code reader and battery tester.It arrived in a neat case with all the cables needed and "idiot-proof" instructions. It is small enough to be able to keep in the glove box of the car at all times.The first time out, I used it to investigate an ABS light. It told me which side the faulty sensor was on and reset the fault without any fuss.Good sturdy build without a hefty price tag.Would be handy to check faults before taking to a mechanic to give an idea of problem or for taking along to view potential car purchases.

I have purchased several products now from TOPDON as their products I find are of great quality and reliability and this is another that ticks the boxes. The great feature of this reader is its able to multi task.1. Code reader easy to use and navigate only had 2 weeks so haven't used in anger yet. I have 1 car with a fault Seat Leon which unfortunately could not connect but may just need a software update will contact TOPDON for advice as I have another cheaper reader from the same company and this reads no issue.My other car Subaru connected no issues but no faults to fix or read unfortunately.Then you simply unplug amd plug in the battery clips.2. Battery testing capability this is great works a treat with several easy to use options from specialist batteries to your standard lead acid batteries.I will update this review once I hear back from TOPDON or get round to updating.

Works well as a batterybyester and most of your code reading but not quite great as a code reader. Good enough to check what your engine is error on but it really excellent as a battery tester.

Really well manufactured piece of equipment, it comes complete with its own excellent case, from the moment I took it out of the box I knew this was a well made quality item. I found it very easy to use, self explanatory once hooked up to the car, it even features a light within the plug so you can see where the car socket is and makes connecting up easier on some cars. The battery tester works well too, all in all a very handy piece of equipment, essential nowadays with all modern cares with engine and all other systems that require codes to be read. I thoroughly recommend this OBD2 Scanner and Battery Tester

I purchased this tester after looking for ages for one and this was the only one I could find that didn't have any connection issues with our vehicles. After having an issue recently with my car and having to borrow a tester off someone else, thought it was time to buy my own. It's packaged really well in a handy bag and does everything I need it to do. Still have to test it on other cars but works perfectly with mine. There is a beeping noise when pressing the buttons, but if this would be annoying to the user, you can turn it off in the settings menu. Seems as accurate as the reader I borrowed and now my issue is fixed with my car. Simple to use to see if there are any DTC's in the cars computer. Very happy with my choice and can definitely recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a budget but capable diagnostics tool, it’s small enough to keep on the glove box or boot for when you get into a sticky situation.For me I was having problems starting my car and found the battery was weak (battery was only changed 18 months ago! )This is was a quick guide and easy to use, pop it on insert relevant information and get the answer you need with out garage fees , or waiting hours for breakdown service to come out.Also plugged into the car obd port but had no faults so all good.This would be a great tool to take with you if you was planning on buying a car for a quick health check.It’s affordable with out being “cheap”

There are a few issues with this product in my view.1) There is no adjustment for the screen brightness and it is difficult to read it outside, in daylight (and this is important because most of the time, you will probably want to test your battery outside, whilst it is fitted in your car).2) The lack of an internal battery means that as soon as you disconnect from your car battery, it dies. It would be better to be able to keep the current data 'live' for as long as you need it and that would require an internal power source.3) The Topdon website is not the easiest to find things on and to locate the PC software (to perform a software upgrade) was a faff.4) Once I had found the PC software and installed it, it would not 'see' my product. I contacted Topdon for help and I received a quick reply; but the issue is unresolved - so I cannot update it.5) It doesn't appear to be designed to test new car batteries and seems to provide erratic and unexpected readings. When I spoke to Bosch (who made my car battery), they sent me a data sheet that explains that battery testers of this kind do not produce the necessary load current to meet the requisite EN standard, or take into account other factors such as temperature compensation or battery cycling, for example.6) Have recently had a series of errors show-up on my dashboard (CTBA, ASB, low tyre pressure warnings and others) but the TOPDON does not see any of them. This product does not seem to work for any of the tasks I need it for. Such a shame, I really hoped it would be helpful.
