With Trade in a reasonable price for the Kindle.
Love it! Was a bit wary of letting my (very) old kindle go but glad I have. Quick page turning, clear reading with adjustable light. Clear pics of books owned and easy to get a reminder of what they are about. Love the fact it says whether read or how much you have read too. Lots and lots of storage! Chose the Jade green version, even though I am not really a 'green' person, but such a pretty green, very pleased with it. Extremely light to hold. Getting used to the ways to open books, read books, return to books etc was a little confusing for me but it is all very clever. Only downside for me was the price of the Amazon covers so have purchased compatible ones which are just as good and a better price.

Upgraded old kindle very happy
Have had a kindle for many years and finally updated on a whim. So far so good. Easy to setup and lovely colour. Good storage capacity on the device as have hundreds of books on there. Screen is bigger and even clearer than previous kindle. Solid bit of kit and works with calibre as well as the native methods for transferring books. Power/transfer now on usb c which is great - no more trying to work out which way up the cable goes. Page turning works perfectly and also works with my page turner widget as well. Overall very sturdy and great performance as always has been on Kindle’s.

A bookworms must
This is the first kindle I have ever had the pleasure of owning and I am so happy with it. I love to read and at first before I bought my kindle, I was a bit unsure about getting one as I tried to read books on my phone and I found it really difficult so at first I thought that reading from a kindle would be the same, however I was wrong. I have had my kindle for a month now and it is glued to my hand. I love it. I suffer with severe mental health and anxiety and reading is my escape when I am mentally struggling. I got the metallic raspberry one and it is truly a stunning colour, the battery lasts a long time and it charges so fast which is good considering how much I use it on a daily basis. I would recommend a kindle to anyone who loves to read like I do, for me - it isn’t a hobby, it keeps me calm. For £189, some can ask if it is worth it and my answer will always be ABSOLUTELY 100%!!!! There’s nothing better than sitting in peace with a cup of tea and my kindle especially when my sons are asleep and I sit with my Xmas tree lights on which I also use as a calming tool when I am over stimulated and dysregulated. I have also now ordered the matching case and the wireless docking charger which comes tomorrow. Depending where I’m reading, I also like the fact I can change the light settings so I’m not straining my eyes if reading in the dark. Kindle unlimited is definitely a must as you have millions of books at your fingertips. Kindle unlimited has something for everyone but I’m a dark romance and smut reader so the kindle is perfect, I don’t have to carry around a physical book. The kindle screen itself is really fast in terms of turning the pages back and forth, it’s easy to find new books to read after you’ve finished your current read. If you have young children, you can put a passcode on it so they can’t play around on it and you can also have a kids profile on it if sharing with them but my kids aren’t allowed to touch mine. Definitely worth the money if you read a lot like I do.

Very quick kindle with great contrast
I have a scribe, I love it, however it’s too big for daily use sometimes. When I saw the new paperwhite SE I decided to risk it .Honestly I can say I prefer the new paperwhite SE over the scribe for several reasons, the speed actually amazed me , I didn’t expect it to be this quick , it’s getting closer now to actually being useable on the web browser , typing things in to search and page turning is al much much quicker !The contrast as well is massively improved , the scribe always looked grey to me , now text appears black and the back light and screen temp all make the kindle closer than ever to actual paper. The metallic jade colour is beautiful and feels really nice, and of course the waterproofing makes it superior over a scribe in that regards , I still love the scribe but my daily driver now is this kindle . Screen uniformity is also very good , a massive bug bear of mine with any device is screen quality as it’s something you’re focused on when using it , I’ve had no issues at all with uniformity and clarityI’ve read a lot of people say even over the 11th gen PW it’s still a big upgrade due to the speed difference alone , but I can’t comment on that , but for me this is now my favourite kindle and I’ve owned many, including the last oasis. The lack of third party cases is a problem at the moment , not sure if Amazon sprung the release out of nowhere so they didn’t have the designs to prepare any , this is really the only negative I’ve got .Fantastic device

Not perfect, but still the best general reader
When my Kindle Oasis battery packed in (and wasn't replaceable?!) I struggled to find a replacement I wanted. I originally bought the Kobo Libra Colour - which has a lot going for it. It's possible to sync books from across multiple sellers via Google Drive, it has physical page turn buttons, it has a pen for note taking... but (and I think this is a criticism of all colour ereaders, not just Kobo) the screen is too dark to use without the frontlight on, and that's no good for me.I went for this as I wanted a 7" screen - the perfect size for an ereader, I reckon. And it's good - the screen is clear and bright, even without a frontlight, the battery life is excellent. It's a shame that Amazon try to stop you using UK libraries, but this can be worked around with Calibre, which you can also use to load your owned books from other sellers. Also, with the latest update, you can double tap the back of the reader to turn pages, which isn't as good as a physical button, but is something.Unfortunately, there is no sync with Google Drive or similar, no Pocket sync and it is a bit expensive for what it is, but for 7" readers, there's still probably no better alternative.
