Do it and don’t look back!
Taking my yearly family camping trip to Oregon at Moonshine park had an added perk this year. Bringing my girlfriend for her first camping trip! I wanted her to be comfortable but I’m also a little cheap.lol So I needed to get a pad to sleep on, I bought two of these so we could sleep together and I loved that they buttoned together. I will get a third one eventually so we have some extra room but this worked out even better than expected because she deflated hers a little more than I did for my side so she could sleep comfortable. And my pillow was less inflated than hers as well. So with it being inexpensive, very durable, and easy to inflate/deflate.. I would say do it and don’t look back!

Just get this one.
I was looking for a pad with comfort and this one looked pretty thick so I bought this pad along with one by FreeLand to compare the two and this one was way more comfortable. The FreeLand wasn't bad and is more compact but that's because it's not as thick and the Active Era actually fills up by itself and I only had to fill it up with maybe 2 or 3 breaths to my desired firmness. What initially attracted me too was the tufted characteristic of the pad because I felt like it would help disperse the pressure more evenly. I don't know if it does or if it's just because it's thicker, but all I know is that it is comfortable. Worth the buy!

Sleeping pad review
The positives:The main purpose of these camping sleeping mats is to keep your body warmth and take the edge of rocks under the tent. I found that the best practice is to open the valve several hours before bed time for maximum expansion of the foam inside. It comes with clips to secure it while rolled up and fit easily back into the carry case when done using. The mat held air and never leaked. The main valve is very well made and easily opens and closes. The negatives:If you are heavier set guy like me, it may not provide enough hip and shoulder support. My wife and kids enjoyed the mat and do not have any issues. The pillow inflates easily, but takes a little more effort to deflate. The pillow has the standard pool inflator nipple that you have to squeeze just right to let air out. Not that big of a deal, but not sure if there are better alternatives.

Could have been good
I really liked this pad and high hopes, it was super comfortable to sleep on. However, one night I put my full weight on it with my hand, and it burst a seem.

Although light weight and offer more comfort it is quite bulky
I bought this as temporary bedding pending my mattress to arrive post researching air matress and camping gears. I’ve also bought one of those micro air beds where it has little pockets to pad up the bedding. Comparing the 3, this offers the most comfort and appear to be made of good sturdy material. The main sleeping pad is made of a compressed foam and will auto inflate to a cushier state when the valve is open. To roll it up you need to just press out the air. The manual recommended that it should be kept flat to retain the intended shape of the pad. However, due to lack of space I’ve rolled it up. Time will tell how it holds up.

Does not fit on top of a standard twin-sized cot
I was looking for a camping pad to go on top of my standard twin-sized cot (38 x 75 inches) while on a retreat. I choose the Active Era pad because of its overall length of 76 inches (about the same length as my cot), waterproof, lightweight, self-inflation, ability to connect pads, and durability. The dimensions are not accurate and it did not fit on my cot. I'm 5'10" tall, so when it's all inflated, my feet stuck out over the pad. I sort of fit on the pad while inflated if I didn't add any more air from the self-inflation, placed my head at the very top of a partially inflated pillow, didn't move while sleeping to prevent rocking on the partially inflated pillow, and I had to be laying on my back. The pad seemed to be great quality and overall good comfort for the week I had to use it, but I need a longer length. I thought the self-inflation would be more, but it was fine as the foam is a good thickness. It is waterproof and very durable. It's too long when rolled up to take on a hiking trip and the manufacturer suggests leaving it unrolled when not in use, but that's just not practical.

Disappointed
I liked the pillow, but I had a blow it up myself - which was fine. When I first received it I tried it out and it seem like a blew up just fine. But when I needed it the most when I went camping, it didn't blow up at all and I basically slept on the hard ground. I was very unhappy and had to share a bed with one of my friends the rest of the camping trip.

Bouncy
I sleep on this in the back of a Dodge cargo van, going up the interstate for about 10 hours. I have put a baby crib mattress on the bottom with this mat on top. It makes for a bouncy ride but it’s kinda fun! I don’t like blowing on it with my mouth to make it more firm though. Need a small hand pump.
