Ok, so a few of the reviews have mentioned how challenging it was to get the spikes into the ground. I will add, after reading those, and ordering anyway, I was expecting a bit of a challenge. I took measures. I thoroughly soaked the ground to make the spike entry easier. When that did not work, I found the only way - pre dig a hole about the size of these spikes. Only then, when I had a hole just a little bit smaller than the spike, was I able to get the darned things into the ground effectively. I have one of them break too. I am hoping for the trees to appreciate my efforts, but stay tuned on that one!

I have a dwarf cherry tree for years and its growth appeared stunted. I had a professional come and prune it. Then I purchased this fertilizer. Within weeks the tree just grew. It was amazing. There were a few cherry blossoms but not many. Only noticed 2 cherries on it. Not sure why that is when last year’s cherry crop was abundant. We’ll see how next year’s crop does. The tips of the fertilizer spikes are still visible so they’re lasting fairly long. They were heavy and sturdy when removing from their container

We’ve been using these twice a year on our many holly and magnolia trees, and wow has it helped! The landscaping we planted new 5 years ago is lush, healthy and established. It’s like a jungle! Privacy was our main goal since we live next to a park. Now we are at a point we don’t use them as much, only on a couple of the trees that have struggled due to damage from ice storms, etc. if you’re consistent with this you will see results!

The 12 fertilizer stakes were fine (I hope!), but they only give you 2 plastic end caps to fit over the stakes so you can hammer the stakes into the ground. Both of my plastic end caps broke the first time I used them and then I had to hammer the fertilizer stakes using the broken caps. My previous purchases have included one plastic end cap for each stake. I'm guessing the company chose to cut costs to make a bigger profit.
