The ONE in the name is for “one second,” and I would say its read time is even faster than that. After tons of frustration with how slow cheaper thermometers were, I finally splurged on this and it was worth every penny. Besides its superb accuracy and speed, it has all the bells and whistles. Stuff I didn’t even know I wanted. It automatically powers on and off when you slide the arm away from / back into the base. It has a huge, backlit, highly readable screen. It has an internal gyroscope that automatically switches the screen to any of 4 directions so that you can read it no matter what angle you’re holding it. It’s built like a tank. It’s IP67 water resistant. This is the endgame of kitchen thermometers. It’s expensive, but it’s worth every penny and then some.

I have been looking for a good food thermometer for some time. I have spent a lot of money and finally found a company that knows what affordable, accuracy, and ease mean. The meater is thick and won’t read if grill lid is closed, needs to be charged often. The Traeger broke right away, the entire tip came off. The probes on the actual Traeger grill are way off too. The laser changes temps so fast I don’t know what to believe, it just rambles. So the ThermopenONE has help me so much as I bake a lot of sourdough bread and homemade yogurts. Temperature is crucial for each for proper fermentation. The ThermopenONE is affordable. It is quick to respond. It is very accurate. I like that the tip in very thin and doesn’t make big holes in the meat. No extra buttons to turn it on and off, just open the probe to use and when done, close again. Well built and water proof. It will be a helpful tool in my kitchen.

Excellent! Not only does it give me internal temperatures of what I have on the smoker very quickly, but it gives me good tactile feedback on how tender it is. From brisket to Boston Butts, this thing is becoming indispensable. I should have bought on a long time ago! Makes a great gift for the one you know that grills, runs a smoker, baking chicken and any other cooking needs where the temp of the food needs to be known.

I have cooked and baked for years and have used many different instant read thermometers. I finally treated myself to the thermapen one. Worth every penny! Easy to hold and read, when working with hot liquids and candies, testing meats and breads and even when testing ice cream mixtures. Costs a little more, but saves in the long run because of its accuracy. I would give it more stars if I could!

It is probably the best instant read thermometer you can buy. If you have the spare cash and want a super nice thermometer you will love it. Cheaper alternatives still work good but work slower, this one reads instantly and accurately.
