+1 what brycen says for United States 240V split phase service that uses 2 120V circuits. I clamped the coil over one of the hot legs and wired each hot leg to the load terminals on the meter. All measurements were accurate; amps, watts, volts, hertz, total power used, and power factor. I'm using this meter to monitor power supplied to a heating element for a brew kettle, which utilizes a Blichmann power controller to power the heating element. If you're using this for a similar purpose, wire the meter into the circuit BEFORE the power controller. Initially I wired it after the controller, which resulted in inaccurate readings..

yes, I have one in the us on 240volts. 2 hot wires, one to the terminal marked hot and the other hot to the terminal marked neutral and it has been working for over a year so far.

As suggested, I bought two meters. Each is clamped over one leg of the power for the AC (120v+120v). I see current, volts and amps for each leg. Each meter is plugged into a standard 120v outlet. They are mounted in the garage on the wall opposite the breaker box (which is on the outside of the house.) Now I need a way to capture the information. I have an app that captures how often the AC blower fan comes on. I suppose if I get some averages of amperage used by the rest of the AC unit, under various outside temperatures, I can get a rough idea of how much power is being used.
